This event celebrates dance, cheer, and the arts providing our community an opportunity to strut their stuff! Any All Abilities team or group is invited to perform.
The Work and Play Special Needs Resource Center is committed to creating opportunities for people with disabilities, allowing them to express themselves through various forms of art, cheerleading, and dance. The center runs a community-based CheerAbilities team, called Sparkle and Shine Stars, for children and adults aged 8 and above in Saline!
The Sparkle and Shine Stars Cheer Squad is looking forward to seeing you on June 8th at Saline High School's theater, where they will celebrate the end of the 2024 dance/cheer year. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Sparkle and Shine Stars Cheer Squad and Work and Play Special Needs Resource Center, Inc.

About our CheerAbilities team: Our all-abilities team aims to inspire and engage children and adults who have different conditions, like Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Epilepsy, sensory processing disorder, hearing and vision impairments, Acquired Brain Injury, ADHD, and many other disabilities.
Our goal is to provide a level playing field for everyone, allowing them to experience the same physical, emotional, and social benefits that neurotypical students enjoy. Our team-building activities help to build balance and proprioception, spatial awareness, visual stabilization, memory, musicality, teamwork, self-confidence, and communication skills, while also forging friendships.
Participating in a cheer or dance team has a unifying effect, inspiring cohesiveness among the participants and fostering a sense of community that goes beyond the classroom.
