At the Work and Play, we believe dance is for everyone.  It's where some of us as young adults created some of our fondest memories.

The Sparkle and Shine DanceAbilities Team is an inclusive dance program created for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to experience the joy of movement, music, friendship, and self-expression in a supportive and encouraging environment. Our dancers are empowered to build confidence, develop skills, and celebrate their unique abilities — all while having fun.

Through creative movement, rhythm, teamwork, and performance opportunities, dancers improve coordination, social connections, and independence at their own pace. Whether someone is stepping onto the dance floor for the very first time or already loves to perform, every dancer is welcomed, supported, and celebrated.

 

Our program focuses on inclusion, positivity, and creating a space where dancers feel safe to be themselves. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to participate, belong, and shine both on and off the stage.

 

Dancing on this team is not about perfection — it’s about confidence, connection, and the joy of dancing together.
